Reef Accountants

We are a specialist accounting and taxation practice based in Coolum Beach on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, and service clients locally, and in NSW, Western Australia, Hervey Bay, Gold Coast and New Zealand. Established in 2011 by its Directors Hayden Rooney and his father Alistair Rooney, our practice has a direct focus on Accounting & Taxation Services, provided by the two fully qualified Directors, one specializing in Australian taxation, and other New Zealand taxation.

Hayden Rooney, Director – With a Bachelor of Commerce (Accountancy, Finance and Information Systems), a Graduate Certificate of Business (Professional Accounting), 10 years of public practice accounting and taxation experience, membership with the Institute of Public Accountants (MIPA) and being a registered tax agent , Hayden is an Australian accounting and tax specialist. He can look after your basic individual tax return, through to the complexities of small to medium business, along with specialist knowledge of the Management Rights industry, and a strong interest in the building and construction industry.

Alistair Rooney, Director – A Chartered Accountant (NZ) with over 30 years of experience, predominately as a partner in a medium sized accountancy practice in a regional hub in New Zealand, Alistair is a New Zealand accounting, business advisory and tax specialist. If you’re an expat Kiwi living in Australia who still has financial interests in New Zealand, or if you’re looking at emigrating to or from New Zealand, he’s the man to speak to. Having retired and sold his shareholding in his practice of over 30 years a couple of years back, Alistair now shares his time between Christchurch and the Sunshine Coast.
